Welcome to Antalya, Turkey also known as the Turkish Maldives. This region of Turkey is very popular for tourism as a beach resort destination but it is so much more than that. As most of the country, it is rich in history, culture but yes, the water is incredibly blue!
Our exploration started at the Side Ancient City which was founded almost 2,000 years ago by Greek settlers. The remaining ruins are very impressive to see and you can see most of them for free. This ancient city is also connected to a beautiful waterfront with restaurants, shops, hotels and more. You can easily spend a day there walking around.
For lunch we drove to the Duden waterfalls where we had a delicious meal at the Deฤirmen Restaurant which is located on the bottom part of the waterfalls between two cliffs offering an amazing ambiance to have a meal.
Because Antalya is much more than just a beach destination, don't forget to visit the old town and walk around the narrow streets where many restaurants and shops are located. The bazaar is also a must see.
The following morning, I had to leave Tracey behind to go on a little boat adventure on the crystal blue water. This was for sure a more "touristy" activity but I have to say, it was a lot of fun.
