Following my dad’s footsteps in UZBEKISTAN: Soviet train, Samarkand and a mountain village

In this video, I will take a Soviet Uzbek train from the capital Tashkent to Samarkand. Samarkand is one of the most ancient cities on the planet, the same age as Rome and Athens. Samarkand is the second-largest city in Uzbekistan and the capital of Samarqand Province. The city is most noted for its position at the junction of trade routes on the Silk Road between China, India, and the West, and for being an early Islamic center for scholarly study.
