Germany and Denmark are teaming up to build the world’s longest immersed tunnel. The Fehmarnbelt tunnel will stretch around 11 miles, up to 130 feet below waters in the Baltic Sea. The tunnel is part of an expansion to the Trans-European Transport Network, which will reduce travel time between Copenhagen and Hamburg by two hours.
