Our Weekend at Nairobi's Most Famous Hotel / Fairmont The Norfolk

Built in 1904, Fairmont the Norfolk hotel is the second oldest hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. 120 years later, this fine establishment still stands and was kept in a pristine condition while keeping it's charm and elegance from the early 1900's.

The Fairmont Nairobi's property is simply stunning. From the lush gardens all around, to the vintage car and carriages, you need to spend some time walking around the different paths to truly appreciate the hotel. Otherwise, the hotel itself is a true 5 star hotel with nice rooms, a stunning lobby with a lot of seating areas, a patio and a very elegant bar. In terms on amenities, Fairmont Norfolk has everything from a heated pool, a fully equipped gym, souvenir shop, spa services, valet parking and even a fine dining restaurant.

Hotel aside, Tracey has been wanting one of those safari dress since she arrived in Kenya. Finally, she found the one at the Enanai Boutique inside the Fairmont Hotel. A very nice luxury souvenir shop where everything is sourced from local designers and artisans.

The highlight of our staycation in Nairobi was truly our dining experience at Tatu, Fairmont's signature restaurant. This was the best fine dining meal we have had in Kenya. Tatu means "3" in Swahili and they chose that name to represent their three pillars. which are good ambiance, good service and good food. Like we mentioned in the vlog, if you have the opportunity to dine at Tatu, ask for the chef's table.

And to end this weekend getaway in Nairobi, we spent our morning enjoying some couple relaxation time thanks to Spa by Xenaxia a well renown spa company which has locations in different luxury hotels around Kenya. https://spabyxenaxia.com/
