In this episode I visit Scotland for the first time, starting in the capital city Edinburgh, I then make my way to Glasgow which is Scotland's largest city, before venturing to the Highlands and seeing famous sites like Loch Lomond and Doune Castle. I admit living in the UK and having sunny destinations like Spain and Italy I haven't travelled around the UK as much as I should have, but this trip to Scotland made me realise beauty is closer to home than I thought! Scottish culture and traditions like whisky, kilts, bagpipes and haggis is fascinating, as is the modern Scottish cuisine. In this episodie I explore the whisky making tradition and visit Glenkinchie distillery, Johnnie Walker Princes Street and The Pot Still to see how its made and try Scotch whisky, I try local dishes like the Scottish breakfast, deep-fried haggis and Scottish seafood. I also visit historical sites like Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and Glasgow's Merchant City. The history of Scotland as an independent nation and its union with England is fascinating to learn about, and I have to agree that Scottish people are some of the friendliest in the world!
