Living in the US Mexico borderland region is unique in so many ways! In this video I visit both San Diego and Tijuana to find out how the border has shaped daily life and people's sense of identity, and how Mexican and American culture has overlapped to create a unique borderland culture that's not found anywhere else in the USA or Mexico. From the Mexican Californian food fusion to the frequent US Mexico border crossings between both countries, both legally and illegally, it's interesting to see how living on the border with another country impacts the life of borderland residents and the culture of the borderlands themselves. It's especially interesting to learn about the history of the USA and Mexico, and explore the border region in its historical context, because California was once Mexican territory before becoming part of the United States.
