Which ultimate 4x4 wagon is the best? (Ford Everest vs Toyota Prado 2025 Review)
The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado was the most anticipated vehicle in Australia in 2024 and for good reason, with the legendary off roader long overdue for a replacement, but many fans have been left disappointed with the 250 Series replacement.
At the same time, the Ford Everest has rocketed up the sales charts as fans become addicted to its lusty 184kW/600Nm V6 diesel engine, full-time 4WD and its relatively affordable price tag when compared to its more premium rivals.
But can it really be better than the new generation Prado, which now rides on the same platform as the all-mighty 300 Series?
To find out which one of these is really the best overall 4x4, production specialist Tom Place and our 4x4 expert Evan Spence travelled to Tumut to conduct our in-depth comparison test.
