Why L.A.’s Trains Can Take 4x Longer Than Driving | WSJ Pro Perfected
Los Angeles had one of the best mass transit systems in the U.S. about 100 years ago. But today, driving in L.A. traffic can still be faster than taking the train. The city’s mono-centric design ends most of the rail lines in downtown L.A., similar to New York City’s subway system that has most MTA and commuter lines connecting or ending in Manhattan. But L.A.’s population is too spread out for this kind of design.
WSJ spoke with the former chief innovation officer at L.A. Metro to find out how he would fix the city’s transit system.

PLEASE NOTE - there have been some comments stating I was wrong to say the no Tayrons get DCC as standard and that the PHEV does get it. I'd been told no Tayrons at the event have DCC by the person in charge of the VW press fleet. I took this to mean that it wasn't standard as I wasn't told the press Tayrons were unrepresentative of customer cars as can be the case with early cars. If you look at the mode screen at 30:17 you can see it doesn't say DCC. I've looked at the configurator and it does seem to conflict with this info so apologies about that. I did suggest PHEV buyers should order it so no harm done!
In this video I share with your my opinions on the new VW Tayron SUV.
Thanks to VW UK for the invitation to this launch event which wouldn't have happened with your support (so thanks to YOU too).
