Russia has been hit heavily in the Rostov Region as Storm Shadows have rained down on multiple strategic sites throughout the Oblast knocking out facilities vital for Russia's war machine and economy. The Russian Federation is overwhelmed by the attack, while major damage is being cause due to 3 oil tanker ssinking near the KErch strait, the damage now visible on Satellite. Russia is also working on making friendly fire less of an issue after North Korena soldiers have accidentally killed 8 Russians in a friendly fire incident. The Russian economy is still in freefall and the Russian Duma is openly blaming the central bank for the financial catastrophe.

That’s the question Top Gear set out to answer when we sent the new Toyota Land Cruiser off into the Welsh wilderness together with the facelifted Mercedes G-class, the latest Land Rover Defender, and the 4x4 that apes ye olde Defender, the Ineos Grenadier.

We sent these four 4x4s clambering over rocks, wading through rivers, and generally doing the sort of stuff they’re designed for but never actually do in the hands of most buyers.

Putin has threatened to strike Kyiv with IRBM missiles as Putin begins to dive into insanity due to the loss of the Russian Army in Ukraine. Russian forces continue to face insurmountable losses as North Korea attempts to send more troops; Russia does not want them. In Murmansk huge explosions were seen in Murmansk at the naval base, with the exact damage still unknown while the sun rises on the burning port. The US has announced that there are now 2,000 US forces inside of Syria. A NOTAM was issued for drone activity in the entire area of Northern New Jersey, with lethal force authorized by the federal government to deal with incursions.

This is a seismic moment for the American muscle car, as this new 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona is electric…

Yes, combustion versions are coming – in the guise of twin-turbo 3.0-litre six-cylinder models – but the headline act for the new Charger is no longer a gas-fed V8.

Not that the new electric Charger will be short on power. The EV side of the offering kick offs with 496hp in the Dodge Charger Daytona R/T, rises to 670hp in the Daytona Scat Pack driven here, and will climb higher still when next year’s Banshee model appears. 0-60mph and quarter-mile times will trounce their petrol equivalents.

But is that better? This is now a four-wheel drive Charger, one sitting on the new Stellantis STLA Large platform, with a 100.5kWh battery pack to lug around. The headline power figures and acceleration times might be impressive, but what about the usual EV bugbears of excessive weight and the absence of noise? Can a silent muscle car succeed?

Meanwhile Russian forces continue to attempt a breakthrough at Kursk, taking heavy losses and losing a large amount of North Koreans. A Russian ship has sent a distress signal form the Kerch strait. The United States has stated that support for Ukraine will continue into the next administration, the Republic marches onwards!

Stig Laps are back!

That’s right, The Stig is once again roaming free at Dunsfold, and in this eight-part series we’ve gathered, well, eight cars, to set new timed Power Laps at the Top Gear Test Track.

So far, we’ve seen the 1578bhp Koenigsegg Jesko Attack and 2000bhp+ Ford SuperVan 4.2 set lap times, and this time out we’ve got the Nürburgring King: the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

Sure, the Mercedes AMG One might be a little faster at that well-known German circuit, yet not much else is because of the Porsche’s active aero (have you noticed the rear wing?!) and trick suspension that can be adjusted corner-to-corner by dials on the steering wheel.

The GT3 RS set a 6 minute and 49 second time at the Nürburgring in 2022, which shows the power of downforce – but what lap time can it do on our turf? Over to Top Gear’s Editor-in-Chief, Jack Rix, and The Stig…

Explosions have rocked Kaza, deep in the heart of Russia, as Ukrainian drone strikes continue to hammer the Russian Federation. Meanwhile US forces have conducted a large air attack on Houthi forces within Western Yemen, targeting key sites used by the Houthi forces for offensive attacks on maritime shipping. Russia has suffered very high losses in Ukraine while trying to take more ground. Some Russian forces are appearing to break under the pressures of winter fighting, and cannot give effective resistance.
