The Honda Accord large sedan was the type of vehicle Aussies loved prior to the explosion of SUV popularity. And the Japanese carmaker is hoping to rekindle fondness for the shrinking segment with its 11th generation.

Just a sole e-HEV RS variant sits at the Accord helm today, promising hybrid frugality via Honda’s novel take on petrol-electric tech in a package injecting sportiness to what’s traditionally a luxury format. And at $64,900 driveaway, the big sedan’s big ask also brings big expectations.

However, the new Accord does still face stiff and often more affordable competition from the likes of the just released new-gen Toyota Camry, the Skoda Octavia and the Mazda 6.

Does the Accord e-HEV RS measure up or miss the mark? Chasing Cars’ Tom Place road tests one to find out.

This luxury charter experience started at the airport with a private shuttle picking us up and driving us to the Marina where we saw the sailboat for the very first time. After meeting our wonderful crew, we left the city of Bodrum and navigated for about 2 hours towards the other side of the main island. After walking around some old ruins and enjoyed the beach, we went back to the yacht for our first dinner onboard. The food has been consistently delicious the entire journey.

On day two, we woke up after a calm night anchored by the island had breakfast before moving to Orak Island Bay to start enjoying the blue waters of what I like to call the Turkish Maldives for some swimming, snokeling and paddle boarding. And let's not forget the ice cream boat that came around!

From there, we sailed to Karaada island which means Black Island in Turk. This is were we were finally able to go on the Jetski! This Seadoo, was close to knew and super fun to play around around with. We all had a really good time before enjoying another nice supper and a night under the stars.

For the third day, we left our private anchored spot to go around Karaada island where we went on a hike to the top and enjoyed the famous hot springs. The Karaada island hot springs are worth visiting because of its cave which was super cool!

That same afternoon, we went back to the Bodrum Marina, explored a little bit of this coastal town by foot before enjoying our last night onboard the ship.

Overall, sailing Bodrum was an amazing few days which we will never forget. This was our first private charter experience and hopefully not the last. Everything was so well organized, relaxing and enjoyable.
