Madagascar is one of the most unique and fascinating countries in the world, and when it comes to the food, it’s unlike anywhere else. Today we’re in the capital city, Antananarivo, a bustling city where you’ll find some of the best Madagascar street food in the country. We’re eating everything we can from morning to night, 14 hours on this ultimate Malagasy street food tour!

Thank you to Michael, Coco, Andry (https://madagascar-discovery.com/), and Mario for taking me around on this ultimate Madagascar street food tour!

6 AM - We’re starting this Madagascar street food tour with vary amin'anana - Malagasy rice and greens porridge that’s eaten almost daily. Along with the porridge you also get dozens of meats, proteins, sausage, and beans. We then continued walking around the bustling and colorful morning market, and tried things like kola nut, numbing flowers, and coffee.

Zebu - You can’t come to Madagascar without trying Zebu, the local cattle breed, and the meat is so flavorful and natural. We washed it down with fresh ginger sugarcane juice.

Looks Ny Maraina - One of the greatest meals you have to eat when you’re in Madagascar is called looks, or pig face. Along with rice, some extra side dishes like Zebu and a fiery hot chili sauce, it was an awesomely tasty meal.

Le Bord D'Ambohipo - Dinner and late night, we’re at a restaurant stall known around the city for their Malagasy bbq. We’ll try all the different skewers, from shrimp and calamari, to zebu beef, and a giant grilled fish. What I also really loved were all the sauces, salads, and side dishes.

This was my very first time in Madagascar and it was an unbelievable introduction to the incredible and unique Malagasy street food in Antananarivo.

Best Ever $50 Buffet!! PRIME RIB HEAVEN - All You Can Eat in Bangkok, Thailand!!

Today I’m giving you a full tour of one of the best buffets in Thailand! Copper Beyond Buffet is a huge buffet, very famous in Thailand, for serving gourmet and luxury foods, but for an affordable price. How do they do it?

We’re going on a full tour, we’ll see behind the scenes of how they maintain their quality, service, and variety. And then of course, we’ll eat as much food as we can. Everyday you’ll find 130 different dishes, and this location 1,200 people eat here per day. It’s an international buffet, with many traditional and elevated Thai dishes, Japanese, French, and Western dishes. Some of the highlights at the buffet for me were the smoked prime rib, the wagyu boat noodles, and the fresh oysters and cocktail shrimp.

One of the reasons they are able to keep the price affordable and maintain a high level of quality is that the entire buffet is not run like a traditional buffet. Instead it’s run like a fine dining restaurant, so big portions of food are never cooked. Instead they cook small plates, made to order. This maintains quality, but also reduces waste.

If you like buffets, when you’re in Bangkok, Thailand, eating at Copper Beyond Buffet is a must!

Price and weekdays: 1,359 THB ($40.99)
Price on weekends (with prime rib): 1,499 THB ($45.21)

In this video we’re in Madagascar, East Africa, and we’re going over to Michaels home village, where he and his family have invited us over for a family Malagasy celebration. One of the most special Madagascar foods is fresh goose, and we had 2 fresh geese which was stewed down along with pork. We also had the amazing zebu cattle meat, cooked until tender, and one of my favorite vegetables in Africa - cassava leaves!

But before we go to Michaels village, we’re first stopping in the major city of Antsirabe to explore the vibrant and bustling market, try some local ingredients, and ride on a push-push. Let’s explore the incredible beauty of Madagascar!!

Thank you to Michael Rakotomahefa for hosting us, and Coco, Andry (https://madagascar-discovery.com/), and Mario for taking me around on this ultimate Madagascar street food tour!
