10,000 Kilometres In Korea’s RAV4 Rival (Hyundai Tucson Elite Hybrid 2025 Long-Term Review)

Hyundai recently revamped its midsize Tucson SUV line-up, ditching diesel and giving petrol-electric hybrid power a big push in its chase of the hugely popular Toyota RAV4.

So Chasing Cars’ deputy editor Curt Dupriez has commandeered ‘Ari’ the Elite Hybrid 2WD with N-Line pack, which lobs from $52,600 before on-roads, to see if the Korean mid-size SUV has the goods to take on the biggest selling passenger car in Australia tyre to tyre.

As we hit the six-month mark adding 10,000 kilometres under its 19-inch wheels, Dupriez kicks off Part 1 of our two-part verdict on whether the Tucson should be short-listed in your search for a petrol-electric family hauler.

BYD Shark 6 vs GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV: Off-Road, Dyno, And Payload Tested!

A pair of off-road capable, plug-in hybrid dual-cabs from China? The world really has changed. The BYD Shark 6 had the PHEV ute market all to itself for a while, but now rivals are arriving hot on its heels. The Ford Ranger is coming soon, but first the newest challenger comes in the form of the GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV.

With a mechanical 4x4 system including locking centre and rear differentials — with an optional front locker as fitted to our Ultimate trim — the Cannon Alpha should have the edge in the rough stuff.

Together with a group of content creators from Europe I toured the inside of the parliament and got to see a World War 2 commemoration ceremony. And as a Russian, it was quite a bizarre but great experience! I even ran into some issues getting inside. But how did I end up getting invited to the EU Parliament?
