Global debut of Hyundai’s huge seven-seat EV (Hyundai Ioniq 9 2025 Review)

Hyundai has pulled the covers off its rival the Kia’s EV9, the seven-seat electric Ioniq 9 SUV. And Chasing Cars contributor Dan Gardner is at the global reveal in Los Angeles, California, to check it out in the metallic flesh.

Gardner takes us through a walkaround deep dive to check out the size, features and the bold styling direction Hyundai is heading with its electric Ioniq lineup, both outside and inside.

Due in Australia in Q1 2025, the Ioniq 9 is much larger than its predecessors in the ‘5’ and ‘6’, with our flagship Caligraphy demo car boasting a “lounge-like” interior, a 110kWh battery and dual-motor 320kW output in its highest trim.

Check out our deep dive and also stay tuned soon for Gardner’s first drive of Hyundai’s bold new family-friendly figurehead.

First Aussie drive of the Macan EV challenger (Polestar 4 2024 Review)

After it was initially due to arrive in August, the 2024 Polestar 4 electric midsize coupe-SUV has finally arrived in Australia in November…just in time to be called an MY25.

While the local range kicks off at $78,500 for the Long Range Single Motor, right in Tesla Model Y territory, our 400kW Dual Motor on test clocks in at $88,350 before options.

Add Plus ($8000) and Performance pack ($7200) add-ons and the newcomer really makes a more logical cross-shop against the likes of BMW iX3, Audi Q4 E-tron and the soon-to-launch Porsche Macan EV. Call it around $112K with all the good stuff.

Chasing Cars contributor Nathan Ponchard takes the new third model in the local Polestar lineup for a spin to see how the newcomer fares on Aussie roads on its Euro correct suspension, and assesses whether or not there’s merit in Polestar 4’s premium, luxury and performance-infused EV pitch.

Our extra-large ultimate Aussie deep-dive review (Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2025 Review)

The new-generation Toyota 250 Series Land Cruiser Prado is the biggest launch of 2024. And for our first drive of the new Prado in 15 years, we’ve rustled up a big video review.

Chasing Cars’ Iain Curry conducts a thorough inside and out test of the new Prado in both GXL and flagship Kakadu variants, that latter - naturally - in and around Kakadu National park in the Northern Territory.

On road, off road, features, pricing, safety, towing…it’s all here. Including the controversial addition of AdBlu and that ‘small’ fuel tank and how it might affect touring range.

Is Australia ready for the new Prado? And is the 250 Series ready for the best and worst of a sunburnt country? Let’s get bull-dusty and find out in Prado: The Movie!
