Race Car vs. Road Car! We race the Cadillac V-Series.R (LMDh) versus the Ferrari 296 GTB with Asseto Fiorano package, the McLaren 750S, and the Porsche 911 Turbo S (992.1) through the 1/4 mile — including a roll race!

In this video, we perform instrumented 0-to-60 and quarter-mile testing on Cadillac's 2024 Le Mans entry, the Cadillac V-Series.R — and race it against several roadgoing supercars.

Thanks to Balance of Performance (BOP) rules, the Cadillac's 5.5-liter cross plane-crank, 8800-rpm V-8 is limited in output thanks to a restrictor plate — and its electric hybrid motor is also turned down.

But there are no BOP rules on the road, so the Cadillac team turned the wick all the way up.

Meanwhile, the road cars were vying for a chance to race the Cadillac. The Ferrari 296 GTB with Assetto Fiorano (sport) package comes with Michelin Pilot Cup 2R tires to deal with the 818 hp from its twin-turbo, 120º 3-liter V-6 and electric motors.

The McLaren 720S uses a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter flat-plane-crank V8.

And the rear-engined Porsche 911 sends its 3.7-liter twin-turbo flat-six's power to all four wheels, with a blazing launch that'll keep up with a 1500-hp Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport to 60 mph.

But can any of them keep up with a Le Mans car? And what about in a rolling race from the Cadillac's 60-kph pit-speed limiter? We find out with Le Mans royalty Sébastien Bourdais at the wheel!

Larry Chen visits what can only be described as an automotive Disneyland built by a Thai construction mogul named Heng. PLEASE NOTE - I try and avoid watching loads of reviews before I have to do my own as I like to come to my own conclusions (having been a proper motoring journalist in the past for VW Driver and Audi Driver magazines) but I do watch them afterwards and of the 2 I have watched (Harry's Garage and STG) both refer to the weight as either 1700 or 1725 kg. I stated 1800 kg which is the figure I got from the Engine/Technical data section on the M2 configurator which states "Unladed Weight (EU) 1800 kg". I didn't use the vehicle info supplied by the BMW Press Office as the prices shown had increased significantly since the vehicle was registered in May (approx. £5k in total) so maybe that was where they go it from. The manual gearbox option has pretty much doubled too with most reviews quoting £500 ish, it now increases the cost from £65830 to £67030 (£1200), all prices quoted were from the BMW UK configurator as listed in December 2023.

This video is a full 30 min review of the very rare Mk8 VW Golf Black Edition with 2.0 TSI engine and 4motion all wheel drive which joined the range as an afterthought in September 2023.

There is a Golf R 333 which is not available in the UK, not sure on numbers of the Black Edition but I bet there are fewer 2.0 TSI 190 4motions with DCC than there are R 333s ;)

This is the last review of the last non-GTI Mk8 Golf on VW's press fleet so it marks the end of the Mk8-point-zero era, which has been brilliant to share with you guys, from my first review of a Style back in 2020 to this car, with all the ups and down of my Mk8 Clubsport ownership in between.
