Tesla Model S Crash Test
The passenger compartment of the 2022-2023 Tesla Model S remained stable in the frontal offset test. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of both the driver and passenger. Tesla demonstrated that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those sitting in different positions. Protection of the driver’s chest was rated as marginal, based on dummy readings of compression. Analysis of the deceleration of the impact trolley during the test, and analysis of the deformable barrier after the test, revealed that the Model S would be a moderately benign impact partner in a frontal collision. In the full-width rigid barrier test, protection of all critical body areas was good, both for the driver and the rear passenger, and the Model S scored maximum points in this part of the assessment. Likewise, in both the side barrier and the more aggressive side pole impact, protection of all critical body areas was good. Control of excursion (the extent to which a body is thrown to the other side of the vehicle when it is hit from the far side) was found to be adequate. The Model S has a counter-measure to mitigate against occupant to occupant injuries in such impacts. The system performed well in Euro NCAP’s test, with good protection of occupants’ heads. Tests on the front seats and head restraints demonstrated good protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision. A geometric analysis of the rear seats also indicated good whiplash protection. The Model S has an advanced eCall system which alerts the emergency services in the event of a crash and a system which automatically applies the brakes to prevent secondary collisions.

2024 MERCEDES E CLASS Interior - 3 SCREENS and Selfie Camera!!
The new 2024 Mercedes Benz E Class interior is described as sporty, high-quality, and digital. It combines digital and analogue luxury, and the newly designed icons on the screens are more intuitive for drivers. The instrument panel shapes the digital experience, and the MBUX Superscreen extends to the central display if the car is equipped with the optional front passenger screen. The Active Ambient Lighting illuminates the front section of the instrument panel. The seat surfaces and backrest have a layer design that follows the organic beauty of shells, and the range of interior colours and trims convey a technoid character. The main icons on the displays are now simpler and colour-coded to match smartphone tiles, and the graphics of the screens can be individualised. Overall, the interior of the new E Class is designed to provide a holistic and futuristic driving experience.

Sharper, faster, louder and edgier, but also better? (Nissan Z Nismo 2024 review)
With the Nismo GT-R now a distant memory, Nissan's motorsport maestros have focused their talents on a Nismo-modified Z - the most powerful Nissan Z car ever produced.
An extra 18 grand buys an extra 11kW and 45Nm, though it also gets you a bespoke bodykit, full retuned suspension, a mechanical LSD, lightweight RAYS alloys, a sportier exhaust, race-ready ready bucket seats and an extensively recalibrated transmission ... which is a nine-speed automatic. Against expectation, the Z Nismo won't be available with a manual transmission, though Nismo claims the auto now shifts twice as quickly...
We sent along former MOTOR performance-car editor Dylan Campbell to give the new Z Nismo the full Chasing Cars review treatment. And he reported back with a surprisingly big grin on his face!

2024 FORD EXPLORER ELECTRIC - High-Tech SUV
Ford has announced the launch of its new all electric Explorer model, built specifically for the European market. It is the first Ford to use Volkswagen Group's MEB architecture and is the company's first volume all electric passenger car built in Europe. With a starting price of under $48,300, the two-row mid-size crossover will have a slightly shorter length than the Volkswagen ID.4 with which it shares underpinnings. The Explorer EV features a rugged design with a portrait-style 15-inch Ford Sync Move center touchscreen, 5.0-inch floating digital instrument display, and haptic trackpad. Ford has not yet released full powertrain details but has indicated that the model will feature rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive battery-electric powertrains that will offer DC fast charging times from 10 percent to 80 percent as low as 25 minutes. The Explorer EV is also equipped with numerous ultrasonic sensors and cameras to enable driver assistance systems such as Automated Lane Changes, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, and Active Park Assist 2.0. The Explorer EV is one of nine all-electric vehicles Ford plans to introduce in Europe by 2024.
Orders open later this year in European markets for two trim levels – Explorer and Explorer Premium – with RWD and AWD powertrains.
