Today's drag race is a battle between EV and petrol power (augmented by battery power). The new Mercedes-AMG C63 S takes on the lightning fast Volvo EX30 which costs less than half the list price of the Merc C63 AMG.

Can the Mercedes-AMG put down all 500 kW and 1020 Nm of torque without wheel-spinning and losing time on the launch? The Volvo makes do with just 315 kW and 543 Nm but it's lighter and able to launch like a rocket. Let's see who wins this battle of EV vs ICE.

In this in-depth video, our resident news anchor Dave Taylor takes us through the latest South African pricing on the recently launched Volkswagen Tiguan, T-Cross and Polo Vivo. In a refreshing development, this fleet of new VW's have been launched at similar or even lower pricing than the models they replace, a strategy rarely, if ever, seen in our market.

We'll take you through all those details, in, um, detail.

In the second half of the video, Dave walks us through the brand new, fully electric, Volvo EX90 which he was lucky enough to drive at the international launch in California.

The EX90 is a new flagship for Volvo and while Dave sings its praises, the car does have some rather interesting issues.

The W204 Mercedes C63 AMG has become something of a living legend, a modern classic. Back in 2008, Mercedes made the brave move to stick their largest V8 into their smallest sedan, and the result was something quite special.

Fast forward to 2024 and the world is quite a different place. The European government reckons there is a replacement for displacement and its called electricity.

And so the very latest C63 is a plug-in hybrid. But it is a massively potent machine, over 500kW and over 1000Nm of torque, which makes this car a bit of a weapon.

In this review, Jacob Moshokoa gives us his impression of the latest AMG sedan. Does it miss the mark, or is it just the inevitable evolution of Mercedes-AMG?
