Own an Isuzu D-Max or MU-X 4WD and want to build your confidence when off-roading or towing? Then Isuzu will have a course for you!
Accessible via Isuzu's website, the brand offers single- or multiple-day courses in locations right across Australia, covering all sorts of driving disciplines.
So when Isuzu offered us a chance to trial one of its I-Venture Club events, while testing three updated MY24 D-Max dual-cabs in the process, we couldn't refuse.
Chasing Cars’ Olek Novak went on a three-day deep-dive with the I-Venture crew in South Australia's Flinders Ranges, and survived!

Sharper, faster, louder and edgier, but also better? (Nissan Z Nismo 2024 review)
With the Nismo GT-R now a distant memory, Nissan's motorsport maestros have focused their talents on a Nismo-modified Z - the most powerful Nissan Z car ever produced.
An extra 18 grand buys an extra 11kW and 45Nm, though it also gets you a bespoke bodykit, full retuned suspension, a mechanical LSD, lightweight RAYS alloys, a sportier exhaust, race-ready ready bucket seats and an extensively recalibrated transmission ... which is a nine-speed automatic. Against expectation, the Z Nismo won't be available with a manual transmission, though Nismo claims the auto now shifts twice as quickly...
We sent along former MOTOR performance-car editor Dylan Campbell to give the new Z Nismo the full Chasing Cars review treatment. And he reported back with a surprisingly big grin on his face!

2024 FORD EXPLORER ELECTRIC - High-Tech SUV
Ford has announced the launch of its new all electric Explorer model, built specifically for the European market. It is the first Ford to use Volkswagen Group's MEB architecture and is the company's first volume all electric passenger car built in Europe. With a starting price of under $48,300, the two-row mid-size crossover will have a slightly shorter length than the Volkswagen ID.4 with which it shares underpinnings. The Explorer EV features a rugged design with a portrait-style 15-inch Ford Sync Move center touchscreen, 5.0-inch floating digital instrument display, and haptic trackpad. Ford has not yet released full powertrain details but has indicated that the model will feature rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive battery-electric powertrains that will offer DC fast charging times from 10 percent to 80 percent as low as 25 minutes. The Explorer EV is also equipped with numerous ultrasonic sensors and cameras to enable driver assistance systems such as Automated Lane Changes, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, and Active Park Assist 2.0. The Explorer EV is one of nine all-electric vehicles Ford plans to introduce in Europe by 2024.
Orders open later this year in European markets for two trim levels – Explorer and Explorer Premium – with RWD and AWD powertrains.

Flat-out in luxury! (Audi SQ7 2024 Review)
The Audi SQ7 has just been facelifted for the second time to fight off its aging bones and retain its status as an incredibly fast and luxurious large SUV.
Armed with a rapid 373kW/770Nm 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine, the SQ7 sprints from 0-100km/h in just 4.1 seconds and thanks to a host of chassis trickery like active anti-rollbars, it also promises to be quite capable in the bends.
Rivals include the Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 and the BMW X5 M which also make use of high-power V8 engines in a world where engines are increasingly being downsized.
In today’s review, contributor Nathan Ponchard takes a look at the SQ7 and see how well it has aged in its current years and if its still worth buying in 2024.

Alpine A290_β Concept
Alpine A290, future compact B-segment electric sports car
Alpine is tapping into its motor-sports heritage and essence, and venturing into new segments starting with an urban sports car. The show car’s design, materials and technology encapsulate a new angle on electric cars that are just as suited for motor-sports tracks as they are for everyday drives – and as exciting for the driver as they are for passengers.
To boost the show car’s efficiency, Alpine’s development teams fine-tuned its torque vectoring technology – which controls the torque reaching each wheel separately.
This balancing act pushes performance as high as it can possibly go, when driving in a straight line or turning, and the feeling is unforgettable.
The production car will also have a torque management mechanism suited to its design. Another surprise in Alpine’s new B-segment sports car is an all-new multi-link rear axle. It strikes the best possible balance between vigour and comfort, and is a rare privilege for a car in this category.
